Avoiding Corporate Criminal Liability: Sant'Anna School, Anac, Transparency International-Italia, and Studio Carnà & Partners-Milan offer online training course to promote Corporate Social Responsibility. Application deadline is October 26, 2020
The Sant’Anna School Dirpolis Institute (for Law, Politics and Development) has partnered with ANAC (Italian Authority for Ethics and Anti-Corruption standards), Transparency International-Italia and Studio Carnà & Partners to promote a better understanding of corporate conduct. This strategic partnership aims to support initiatives promoting advanced training initiatives and provide a new online training course “Prevenzione e contrasto della criminalità d’impresa” (Avoiding Corporate Criminal Liability) beginning November 12, 2020, aimed at graduates in law, political science and economics.
Through 45-hour live training webinars, the course provides participants with a working knowledge of business laws, business ethics, comprehensive policy against corruption, Corporate Social Responsibility as a legal and social instrument, criminal risk management according to the Italian Law 231/2001, and “soft “law” instruments as a new global governance paradigm.
Participants will also benefit from the interactive sessions with experts in corporate criminal liability, fiscal crimes, and environmental responsibility. Case studies on voluntary self-regulation, cross-industry initiatives, co-regulation and multi-stakeholder (public sector) partnerships will be used to enhance learning.
Gaetana Morgante, Professor of Criminal Law at Sant’Anna, highlights “The central role business can play in meeting global societal needs, environment sustainability, public health, education and social mobility. Students will have the opportunity to engage in the critical analysis of business enterprises and business thinking that lie at the foundation of social impact and responsibility as conceptual issues.”
“This course will examine procedures and mitigate risks to prevent business-related violations.” – explains researcher Giuseppe Di Vetta , serving as the course tutor. “It introduces students to ethical and legal challenges they will face as lawyers, legal professionals or leaders in business enterprises where corporations are bound by national and international treaties and managers will need to be assisted to comply with the provisions of codes and professional norms, as well as the ethical values and social responsibilities.”
